THE BULLDOG SYSTEM

Through the success of the previous user friendly, “CATS” data line monitoring system, which provided reliable communication for monitoring in buildings, White Lite engineers wanted to design a system that was compatible with the latest Windows® operating system. A system which is easier to install, commission, robust against interference and simple to maintain is the result.

Research had been conducted concentrating on the various media available - namely data, wireless and powerline carrier. After extensive investigation a communications system based on the Echelon® powerline distribution network was chosen. The ability of Echelon® communications is that it can be communicated over all three media - namely powerline, data and wireless.

Bulldog Monitoring Systems are available for Powerline and Dataline communications signalling.

“Bulldog” is an open architecture system and complies with CENELEC EN50065-1 regulations.

White Lite Industries has supplied the first emergency lighting project in the world to use the Echelon® powerline distribution network. Bulldog will integrate with other Echelon® based systems.
